1. The Word of God Works in You to transform you

Pastor Ray began by celebrating the Thessalonian church for how they embraced Scripture. He challenged us to be like them: open-hearted and eager to live out what we've been taught. “The Word doesn’t just work for us,” he said, “it works in us and through us.”

This calls us, New Faith family, to not only read the Bible but allow it to shape our thoughts, decisions, and relationships.

2. Faith in Action May Bring Opposition

The early church faced persecution, yet their faith remained firm. In our world today, standing on biblical truth might invite criticism or rejection—but Pastor Ray reminded us that Scripture calls us to boldness, not fear. Just like Paul, who said, "I am not ashamed of the gospel," we must hold fast to our convictions.

Even in times of hardship, God’s Word strengthens and sustains us.

3. God’s Word Unites His People

Pastor Ray reminded us of the joy and encouragement that come from gathering together. Whether in worship or fellowship, the Word draws us closer—to God and to each other. This is what New Faith is all about: Connecting, Growing, and Finding Purpose.

In closing, Pastor Ray encouraged us to lean on the everlasting arms of Jesus and take the Word into our communities—to be bold, loving witnesses in a world that needs light.

Though officially retired, he and his wife Janet continue to be faithful members of New Faith, regularly encouraging and serving our congregation.
